Smiles All Round!!

On Sunday, SW2000 held the 2nd DTL Welsh Qualifier. Even though it was Mothering Sunday, a good turnout of 45 shooters, shot the selection shoot.

Scoring the day’s only 100, High Gun was Phil Morgan with 100/296-his second High Gun of the weekend after High Gun at Brook Bank SG, with a 100/299. Well shot Phil!!

On Saturday, Cefn Tilla held the 1st FITASC Welsh Selection shoot. With 87 shooters entering, it was a busy shoot. At the top of the leaderboard, scoring was close, with only 3 clays separating the top 5 shooters-but High Gun with a 93, was Jon Kendall. Well shot Jon!!

Griffin Lloyd SG held 2 competitions over this last weekend also, with 34 shooters for the 100 Olympic Trap competition, where Tom Betts was High Gun with a 93-closely followed by Marc Potts with a 90, Mike Wixey with a 90 and Welsh junior, Rhys Tucker with an 88. Congratulations all!!

The weekend also saw the WCTSA Olympic Skeet County Final.

Gold medallist was Tony Cox, Deri Lewis the Silver medallist and Maxine Smiles-Cooke the Bronze medal. Congratulations all!!

Fauxdegla SG held it’s by now, usual 4 shoots over the weekend, with 50 UT and 50 OT on Saturday. Joint 2nd in the 50 OTR were Marc Potts and Emyr Davies with 44/50 and in the 50 UTR, Gareth Roberts was 3rd.

In the 100 UTR Ian Parry-Belcher was 3rd with a 91/100 and in the 100 DTL, Emrys Roberts was 2nd, with a 98/291. Well shot all! Full scores are below-

This coming week, sees the start of the World DTL Championships in South Africa and we wish all our shooters the very best in the competition!!

Next weekend we have the 3rd NSK Welsh Qualifier at SW2000 and the 1st & 2nd ABT Welsh Qualifiers at Fauxdegla SG. If you’ve not already booked on for these shoots, please contact the grounds as soon as possible-and good luck to all shooting them!
