Shooting Wales DTL Opens!

We start this weeks busy roundup, with The Intercounties NSK, held at Crynant SG on Sunday. With good weather and targets, there was some good scoring at the event.

High Gun was Lloyd Morris with a superb 98, with Junior High Gun, Tomos Jones. Winning Team was West Glamorgan and Winning Veteran Team was Ynys Mon. Congatulations all and full scores will be published when received.

Change of discipline and Griffin Lloyd SG held a 100 Registered OTR on Sunday. In testing weather and light conditions, High gun with 82/100, was Jonathan Davis-Well shot!!

Phil Morgan’s Shooting Wales DTL re-entry event at Newport on Saturday, had a good turnout for its first shoot. Two shooters shared the pot, with 25/75’s- Richard Millichamp and Phil Morgan-Great shooting both! Some pictures and the scores are below-courtesy of Phil Morgan. Their next shoot is on Sunday, May 14th 10am-2pm and £8 for practice or £9 for the pool comp.

At SW2000 on their penultimate weekend, they held the 2-day Welsh ABT Qualifiers. With variable light conditions, some of the targets posed a challenge-but not that many to Saturday’s High Gun, Rhys Tucker on a 93, closely followed by Phil Dando on a 92! 1st in A Class was Neil Jones 83, 1st in B Class-Phil Dando, 1st in C Class was Trevor Havard 86 and 1st in D Class was Bob Chivers on an 83. Well shot all!!

Sunday was a bit more overcast and cooler-but we’d all finished before the downpour!! Two superb scores tied for High Gun-Phil Morgan and Rhys Tucker again, on 95, with Neil Stephens hot on their heels with a 94!!

1st in A Class was Neil Jones 80, 1st in B Class Rhys Tucker, Joint 1st in C Class were Martin Tozer and Trevor Havard 83 and 1st in D Class with 83, was Trevor Griffiths. Well shot all!!

This was the last ABT shoot at SW2000 before the ground closes-so thank you to all the staff at the ground for making it a great weekend!

Fauxdegla SG, also had a busy weekend, with the 200 UTR UK Championships and a 100 DTL registered on the Sunday. A great result from Simon Jenkins, finishing in the top 10 on a 184/200 and Ian Parry-Belcher in 14th on a 182/200. Well shot both!

With their DTL shoot, Will Palmer was High Gun with 99/295 with Alan Evans on 99/293 and Alan Davies on a 99/292. Great shooting all!

This coming week is SW2000’s final week as a shooting ground and on Sunday 30th, they are holding a Farewell 50 bird OTR competition, with prizes of High Gun-£150 and Ladies and Junior High Guns £50 each.

There’ll also be some food and drink for when you finish shooting-so please go along if you can and support this event. As they say, “Let’s go out with a large BANG”

This weekend sees the 5th NSK Welsh Qualifier at SW2000, the 5th DTL Welsh Qualifier at Holmes Chapel and the 2nd English Sporting at Lea Farm SG
