On Saturday 16th March we were welcomed by Chris and Rhian Hughes on a typically mixed wet day at Crynant shooting ground for the 100 target 2024 OSK Registered County Finals competition. The shoot coincided with the last of the OSK Winter series of 2023/24. The weather certainly didn’t dampen our spirits.
We were more than pleased to welcome Jessica Hambrook along with her dad Phil to join us on the day. The background was serving up its usual complications until, after refereeing a round, Jessica had a “light bulb” moment having just focussed on each and every target. Her next round was her first ever 25 straight in competition and proper congratulations were given from all involved… Well-done Jessica!
Not to be outdone by Jessica’s success, our own Tony Cox stepped up to the plate with another 25 straight, providing him with the County Finals High Gun Cup, Gold Medal and High Gun score of 89 on the Day. Well-done Tony! In third place was Nigel Hawyes with 66 and the Bronze medal after a shoot off and Deri Lewis was Runner Up with the Silver medal and a notable 67.
We would also like to give a big thank you to Claire Lewis who braved the weather and marked all day.
