New Initiative in OSK training

Wales has seen a significant Interest in Olympic Skeet (OSK) in recent years.  As a result, the WCTSA and British Shooting are pleased to announce the launch of a Development Academy for OSK in Wales for the 2023 season.  This marks a major milestone in the development of Olympic Skeet in Wales, building on the recent success at this year’s Home International and CSF.  The first of the sessions will be held at SW2000 in November 2022.

The Development Academies are run by British Shooting as part of their established Talent Pathway programme.  You will find more information on the British Shooting Shotgun Pathway here: https://www.britishshooting.org.uk/article/875.  The Academy will be run by Allen Warren, long time British Shooting coach, in the run up to the Home International that will be hosted by Wales in 2023.

Alf Weston, WCTSA OSK rep, said ”This marks the start of a close working relationship between British Shooting and the WTCSA where we can develop our existing talent as well as introducing new shooters to the Olympic disciplines.  We hope to run a number of “Have-a-go” sessions alongside the Academy with the aim of giving new and existing shooters the chance to give OSK a try.”

The WCTSA would like to take this opportunity to thank Mike Amodeo, and his staff, for hosting the Development Academy and for their continued support.
