Welsh Sporting 1st Selection Shoot/Tony King Memorial

The cold winds didn’t deter shooters from attending the first sporting selection shoot of the season to compete for the Tony King Memorial Cup.  There were over 140 entries at the event held by Mid Wales Shooting Ground.

A diversity of challenging targets tested competitors’ skills, but it was no match for Martin Myers who shot an impressive 94 over the course to take overall high gun.  However, as the Tony King Memorial Cup is awarded to the WCTSA member with the highest score on the day, Martin was out of the running leaving Huw Stevens and Jon Kendall next with solid scores of 91.  Jon was awarded the coveted trophy on count-back.

Congratulations to all the day’s winners and a huge thank you to Mid Wales Shooting Ground for a thoroughly enjoyable event.  The next sporting selection shoot will be held on Sunday 22nd March at St. Dials Shooting Ground.  We hope to see you there.
