Well I’m not sure where the last week went-but it did and fast!!!
Firstly, welcome home to Owain Humphreys, our OTR SHOOTER, from his great experience at the Juniors World Cup at Suhl. This will be the first of many I’m sure!
This Sunday, saw the 3rd NSK Welsh Qualifier take place at Crynant SG. With 9 squads and 44 shooters, it was a very well attended shoot. We were also very lucky with the weather, with one a few drops of rain on what was a warm but overcast day with little breeze. 21 shooters scored 90 or over, so very nearly 50%. At the end of the day, 2 Welsh shooters tied on a 97 to take the top spot-Nigel Hodson and Bryan Phillips-Very well shot both!!
Sunday also saw the 4th OTR Welsh Qualifier at Griffin Lloyd SG. A good turnout again of 33 shooters, saw Jonathan Davis top the scoreboard with a commanding 6-clay margin, to win on a 90! Great shooting Jonathan! ( Picture courtesy of Griffin Lloyd SG)
At SW2000, Saturday and Sunday were the 3rd & 4th OSK Welsh Qualifiers. With Saturday giving almost perfect conditions for shooting, Des Davies pipped Tony Cox by 1 clay to take High Gun. The Sunday was a windy, more challenging day for shooters and this time, yesterday’s top two were reversed, with Tony Cox taking High Gun with an excellent 89 and Des Davies as runner-up. Great shooting both!
