National Skeet Home International 2023 – Team Manager’s Report
I’d like to start my report on the recent Skeet Home International held in Jersey over the weekend of September 1st and 2nd by thanking the JCTSA for putting on a great shoot and fantastic banquet. Ian Gordon and his team did us all proud with their organisation. Thank you all.
Team Wales shot very well over the weekend with Lloyd Morris taking overall High Gun in the Super Veteran category and our Super Veteran Team of Gareth Irving, Dave Tavernor and Lloyd Morris taking runners-up team overall. Our Veteran Team of Mark Davies, Robert Trow and David Thomas also took runners-up overall with some good shooting.
The Senior Welsh High Gun was Nigel Hodson and Ladies Welsh High Gun was Deena Irving. Welsh Veteran High Gun was David Thomas, and our Welsh Junior High Gun was Tomos Jones. The new caps Ben Marsh, Paul Pratt and Alex Challinor didn’t disgrace themselves by all shooting very well, and our Junior new cap Alex Hughes also shot well. All enjoyed the experience and will be back to hopefully qualify again next year.
To finish I would like to thank the whole Welsh Team for their commitment to shooting the qualifiers and the International and hope to see a good turn out early next year when we start all over again.
