Talent Identification Day

Are you a budding Olympic shooting star? Fancy giving the Olympic shotgun disciplines a go? Then the Welsh Target Shooting Federation in association with the WCTSA can help. We are having a Talent Identification Day at SW2000 SG in Gwent on Saturday 2nd November where you can sample Olympic shotgun disciplines under the guidance of qualified ISSF coaches. Full details appear below:

What is the aim of a shotgun talent identification session?

A talent identification session is an opportunity for you to discuss your shooting aspirations and goals with one of our coaches.  It is an opportunity for us to see how you shoot and offer feedback as to how we think you could develop your skills.  If you like what we do we will endeavour to find you a place on a WTSF Pathway programme.

Who can attend a shotgun talent identification session?

You are welcome to attend a shotgun talent identification session if you have a passion to develop your shooting performance in the Olympic shotgun disciplines.

What skills and behaviours are we looking for?

Your openness to coaching and desire to learn are the key skills we are looking for.  We are looking for shooting potential and your potential to develop.

What happens at a shotgun talent identification session?

  •   We would like to know about you and what you would like to achieve in shooting.
  •    We will ask you to shoot and try a few things that may be new to you.  We are interested in your thoughts and how you interact with us as coaches.
  •    We will talk to you about your training plans and your ability to commit to our programmes.

Where do the shotgun talent identification sessions take place?

You will be invited to attend a shotgun talent identification session at one of the shooting grounds that hosts the WTSF Pathway programmes.

How much does it cost to attend a shotgun talent identification session?

We will not ask you to pay anything towards the coach fees or for the clays you have used in the practical sessions.  A full instruction will be sent to you when you apply for a shotgun talent identification session.

How do I apply to attend a shotgun talent identification session?

Please apply for a shotgun talent identification session by contacting the person below for an application form. Or just turn up on the day.
