OSK Welsh Grand Prix Report by Dave Jones and Alf Weston

Well, that was a hot one !!

We turned up at Crynant on Saturday 12th July for the first part of the OSK Welsh Grand Prix: 75 targets day one and 50 targets day two, followed by the Final. I have to say the targets were clear to see… however shooting out under the sun was verging on unbearable and the guys thought they were melting. Luck was in for the marker though, who enjoyed the shade for the entire shoot.

Top score in the 125 was Tony Cox with a 104, taking the Green Acre Cup, followed by Rob Harry on 90 and Deri Lewis in third place with 76. Congratulations to Tony.

The Final was a very competitive affair with just single targets separating the leaders. The Bronze medal went to Tony, the Silver medal to Deri and the Gold medal plus the John Osborne shield to Rob Harry. Congratulations to Rob a worthy winner.

Congratulations also to all those who took part and there were many other section medals and trophies awarded alongside. As always, our sincere thanks to Chris Hughes and family for a well organised shoot.

Next up on the calendar is our Home International in Ireland at Esker shooting ground and the team is certainly looking forward to the event on the 9th of August.

With all good wishes
