OSK HCIT 2019 Report

The Welsh Olympic Skeet team consisting of Wyndham Howells (captain), Tony Cox, David Jones, Lyn Davies, Paul Jenkins, Kirstin Vogel and new caps Richard Hayward, Mike Mayers, Deri Lewis, Jonny Davies, Georgina Shephard and new to discipline Nigel Hawyes travelled to the OSK Home International at Dungannon Shooting Ground, Northern Ireland, on 10th August 2019.

True to its reputation, the Irish weather was changeable, ranging from bright sunshine to torrential downpour, gentle breeze to strong winds.  However, this did not deter the Welsh contingent, who went about their shooting with determination and smiles on their faces.  Despite it being a very long day, the entire team soldiered on through the conditions to put in some respectable scores, with a few PB’s being recorded.

At the final count, Welsh high gun was won by Tony Cox scoring 85ex100 with captain Wyndham Howells taking the runners up spot with 83ex100.  In addition, Georgina and Kirstin did wonderfully well and came away with the ladies team runners up spot.

As team manager, I would just like to add my sincere thanks to the team who are a pleasure to work with.  By a country mile, the Welsh team has the most wonderful collective spirit, and this showed itself throughout the entire weekend.  And with so many new caps, it shows that Welsh OSK has a great base to work with in the future.
