National Skeet Welsh Open Report – Crynant Shooting Ground 2025 – by Rob Trow

This past weekend saw Crynant Shooting Ground hold the 2025 National Skeet Welsh Open.

A big thank you to Chris, Rhian and their team for putting on such a great day. The weather wasn’t the best to start off with plenty of rain and the odd gust of wind making for some challenging clays. This was reflected in the scores with only 11 shooters hitting 90 or above.

Congratulations to Tom Clifford for taking the NSK Welsh Open title with a 98/100 and Paul Stokes for winning the veterans trophy and medal with 97/100

Well done to David Thomas for winning the Welsh High Gun trophy and medal with a 95/100, beating David Tavernor by 1 clay. David didn’t leave empty handed as he took the Super Vets trophy and medal

Joanne Knapman took the ladies High gun trophy and medal with an 83/100 and Rowan Dugay put in a 75/100 to claim the Junior High Gun Trophy, well done both.

There were no Colts shooting this year.

Scores for the day were:

Overall High Gun– Tom Clifford 98/100

Welsh High Gun-David Thomas 95/100

Super Vet High Gun-Dave Tavernor 94/100

Veteran High Gun-Paul Stokes 97/100

Welsh Juniors High Gun- Rowan Dugay 75/100

Thankyou to everyone who made the effort to attend and shoot and also those that refereed.

Good luck at the upcoming HCIT if you shot well enough to make this year’s NSK team.
