We were welcomed by Tracy at Griffin Lloyd with dry clear skies and varying sunlight , the targets were expertly set and shooting commenced at the expected 10.00am. We had only 8 OSK shooters present with 7 shooting, so a single squad was the preferred choice by consensus. With two new shooters in Rob Fretwell and Pete Gibson , a shame we could not field a more respectable turnout.
While the sun was out the targets were clearly visible and the temperature was reasonable … if only the sun had been more kind over the day which unfortunately was not to be. The term “Lazy wind” applied, you know the one, can’t be bothered to go round you so happily goes right through you, certainly applied for most of the day and by close of play we were all like “pillars of salt “
The top score was Tony Cox with a creditable 87 under freezing conditions, second place was Rob Harry and third Nigel Hawyes. Tony was duly presented with the trophy once again and WCTSA medals are due to the first three places.
Best wishes
