Bank Holiday Action!

Another packed weekend of shooting, from Wales, England and Scotland!

Sunday saw the Welsh Open ABT take place at SW2000. It was good to see 30 shooters take part, in what proved to be, a closely fought competition. Our thanks go to Mike Amodeo, for kindly donating 100 clays, for each member of the Wales ABT Team.

Winning by 1 clay in the end, with a score of 95, Rhys Tucker becomes the Welsh Open ABT Champion 2022. Well shot Rhys.

HG in A Class was Dale Oram on a 94, HG in B Class was Dave Brown with a 93 and C Class was Mellissa Callum with an 87

Presenting Rhys with the trophy, is John Hewlett, the WCTSA’s ABT Discipline Rep, who is stepping down from the role after more than 2 decades. Thank you John!!

After the competition, Deri Lewis, the ABT Team Manager, presented the new caps with their badges-Dave Lewis, Nick Ristic and Clive Bowen (Captain)

Good luck to the ABT Team, as they prepare for this weekend’s HCIT at Esker in Ireland.

Last weekend, saw the Wales NSK Team travel to Scotland for their HCIT. Congratulations to the Veterans Team of Mark Davies, Robert English & Clive Jones for winning their category and well shot to all of the Team.

Full scores are below-

On DTL, congratulations to Colin Lewis , on becoming the North Wales Champion, at the weekend’s shoot at Fauxdegla SG, with a 99/293. Nice shooting Colin.

At the British Open Double Rise Championship, held at Bywell SG, Welsh Junior, Iwan Mills was Runner Up in his Class-well done Iwan.

On Sporting, congratulations to Richard (Brewster) Hughes, on shooting a 100 straight at Catton Hall SG today. Great shooting Brewster!!

The weekend also saw the Welsh Open FITASC at Dovey Valley SG, where 60 shooters competed for both the title and for points towards the Wales FITASC Team.

Good weather, great targets and the beautiful setting of Dovey Valley Shooting Ground made for a memorable 2022 Welsh Open FITASC Championship.

Jacob O’Loughlin took home the Junior High Gun title (84/100), Janine White performed well to take Ladies High Gun (89/100) and Stephen Williams stormed away with Veteran High Gun (95/100).  Mick Harding continued his good-form with 91/100 to gain another Veteran High-Gun title.

Stephen Williams, Steven Randles, Martin Myers and Dorian Evans posted strong scores of 95/100, but none of them could match the phenomenal 99/100 by Tom Young of Scotland, who went home as Welsh Open FITASC Overall Champion.
