This year, the OT HCI was held at the National Clay Shooting Centre at Falkirk, which saw the most testing conditions: rain and winds of 40 mph, with gusts up to 60 mph. Despite the conditions, Marc Potts was sitting High Gun with an impressive 69/75 at the close of the day.
After a good night’s sleep for all and prayers for kinder weather, the team rose to the challenge again. Luckily, our prayers were answered with a break in the weather, which was not great but certainly better than the previous day.
The Welsh team put in impressive performances across the categories over the second day, with Robert Lewis gaining remarkable performances, ending on a 120/150 to get Junior High Gun.
Marc Potts swept the board with a host of trophies, including overall High Gun and Senior High Gun, which was a testament to his shooting ability in the conditions presented to the teams on the day.
After a closely fought battle for overall second place between the Welsh Jonathan Davies and England’s Andrew Greenwood, Andrew won by two targets. Giving Jonathan an impressive 3rd place overall.
Overall, Wales came home with a great host of awards that included-
Ladies R/U Elizabeth Walton-James
Super Vet R/U Phil Dando
Team R/U ladies,
Team R/U junior.
A very enjoyable event was had by all who attended, despite the biblical weather.
