2008 HOME INTERNATIONAL SPORTING SHOOT REPORT

TEAM   WALES  HOME  INTERNATIONAL  (SPORTING)  REPORT

A  full  squad  of  shooters  representing  Wales,  attended  the  Home  International,  held  at  Auchterhouse  Country  Sports,  Scotland,  on  13^th  Sept.  08.

The  event  was  squaded,  the  weather  conditions  were  poor,  a  heavy  misty  rain  and  a  overcast  sky  made  for  difficult  sighting  of  some  targets. 

The  Ground  made  for  some  interesting  opportunities  for  testing  targets,  and  the  variation  of  speed  and  angles,  gave  the  shooters  many  challenges. 

Jon  Kendall  and  Harvey  Caesar  were  new  caps,  also  Pete  Humphreys  and  Joe  Burston  had  qualified  for  the  Senior  Team  after  a  lay-off.

So  to  the  results;  Wales   Ladies  were  Second. 

                              Wales   Vets.  were  Second

Janine  Preece (Cap)  was  second  Lady.

Nigel  Hart  scored  82,  the  high  gun  being  83.

The  day  was  rounded  off  with  the  Banquette  and  Captains  speeches.  The  organisation  for  the  weekend  was  excellent  and  many  thanks  to  the  Scotland  Association  for  arranging  the  event.  The  visiting  Teams  had  booked  into  the  Hilton  Dundee,  I  could  certainly  get  accustomed  to  the  high  standard  of  this  accommodation.

As  ever  as  Manager,  I  now  need  to  asses  the  results  and  see  how  best  to  gain  better  results/performances  for  the  coming  year/s.
