O. T. QUALIFICATION & QUALIFYING SHOOT RULES & CRITERIA 2010

1. Membership of the WCTSA prior to entering the competition is mandatory.

2.Qualifying will consist of six 125 target events with a top 6 single barrel final.

3.To qualify for the team the best four scores from the six selection shoots will count.

3.5 The shooter with the highest score or equal highest score in the qualification rounds will be awarded 0 (zero)points. The remaining shooters will be awarded points equal to the difference between the score of the first place shooter(s) and next highest score continuing throughout the ranking.

3.6 The remaining competitor’s ranking points will be taken from scores achieved in qualification rounds.

3.7 For the 2010 season onwards gun scores in Finals in all events shall be disregarded for the points system. However, the top six (Olympic Finalists) will be awarded MINUS points based on their scores in the combined Qualification and Final rounds (ex 150 for OT/OS men and junior men and ex 100 for OT and OS for women/junior

women and ex 200 for DT men) as follows:

Highest total score – minus (-) 10 (ten) points

Second highest total score – minus (-) 7 (seven) points

Third highest total score – minus (-) 5 (five) points

Fourth highest total score – minus (-) 3 (three) points

Fifth highest total score – minus (-) 2 (two) points

Sixth highest total score – minus (-) 1 (one) point

3.8 For example if a shooter has the highest score in the combined OT Qualification and Final Rounds then that shooter will have a total point score of MINUS 10 (ten) points for that competition.

3.9 Remaining shooters in the OT Final will have minus points awarded as shown in 3.7 above. All tied scores will be broken according to ISSF Rules to determine places one to six.

3.10 The remaining shooters at all events will be awarded points equal to the difference between the score of the first place shooter(s) in the Qualification Rounds and the next highest score continuing throughout the ranking.

3.11 For example, if the highest score in the Qualification Rounds is 120 and the seventh placed shooter scores 117, then he would have three points. The sixth place shooter would have -1 (minus one) point.

3.12 Any competitor who misses the Final (for whatever reason) will be ranked last in the Final with the same points as the seventh competitor and shall not be replaced.

[a] Only members eligible for the Welsh team will be able to shoot in the top 6 final.

6. Home International Team consists of 9 Seniors.

7. If team places are tied then a shoot off system will apply, a full round of 25 targets will be shot, if not resolved a further second round of 25 targets will be shot, then if still tied single barrel sudden death will apply until a result is obtained.

Olympic trap. Selection procedure

The following proposed squad selection procedure is designed to determine Welsh team entry to commonwealth games, championships and European division events. It is anticipated that the individuals included in this squad will have access to any support facilities available through the WTSF.

(Home international selection procedure will remain unchanged).

Welsh Development squad definition:

Top (4) seniors in the welsh ranking who also participate in the British selection process.

Top (1) junior shooter in the welsh ranking who also participates in the British selection process.

The National squad will be determined by the following criteria:

Welsh rankings after the full annual selection cycle. In conjunction with:

British selection participation (this is necessary to ensure people with commonwealth and British aspirations are prioritized).

(It is proposed that the squad that is selected will have a life cycle of 1 complete season before reselection determines any necessary changes to the Welsh squad).

British selection aspiration defined:

Shooters should compete at a minimum of 2 of the 5 scheduled British selection shoots during the selection cycle).
