Travel Information

Thanks to one of our ground owners for dropping us a note to say that further travel difficulties may now take place for visiting shooters coming over to Wales or Welsh shooters travelling to the republic or Ireland because Irish ferries have announced that they have banned the transport of guns on all their ferries. (Posted 12/10)

Since publishing the above information on the 12th October - we have received further clarification from the Irish CPSA. The Irish CPSA have said that we have six 8 months or so before it has a serious impact for UK shooters as well as their own members, so they would hope to have it resolved by then with the application of a little pressure. An e-mail to Irish Ferries from concerned members wouldn't go a miss.

Welsh Charity Event - Lord Mayor's Charity Target Shoot

Bobath Childrens Therapy Centre Wales & Girl-guiding will be running a charity event on Sunday 21st October 2007 - "The Lord Mayor's Charity Shoot".  This event will be informal and is really a "have a go day" for beginners and people who have never really tried clay shooting.  It's a fun day and a trophy will be given to the best beginner who scores the highest score.

For "ten pound" you will get qualified tuition to shoot five clays which should give beginners a good introduction to clay shooting.  As well as this you will receive food in the form of some tasty bacon rolls.  If you don't fancy shooting, you can just pay "five pound" for the food and enjoy the day with the rest of the people.  Proceeds will be given to the charity from the entry money.

A raffle will also take place for this very worthwhile charity.

The event takes place at South Wales 2000 shooting ground, Blackwood, Gwent on Sunday 21st October.
