Southern Counties Shooting Ground - 100 DTL and 100 UT -
November 5th 2006
Remember, remember the 5th of November and so they did as 20 Welsh trap shooters ascended upon this shooting ground for the first of their D.T.L. AND U.T. winter series.
Starting with the U.T. - Chris Belcher was one of four Welsh shooters taking part and came out on top with a score of 90 x 100. Not quite good enough for top spot, as that was won with a 94. Roy Long scored 87 x 100 and this was a first for Huw Williams and John Campbell at this discipline and both scored a very respectable 80 x 100. Well done lads.
On to the D.T.L. and it was Tim Howells who started at
blistering pace smashing a 50 x150.
G.P.Sweet was not going to be out done
and also broke the first 50. Howells barrelling a target on the 75 stage let
Sweet in as he cleared his 3rd round.
M.Chivers was also going strong with a
75 x 222 and R.C.Jones was also in unfamiliar territory with a score of 75 x
219. Into the last round and again Howells barrelled a target which left him
on 100 x 298 and the door ajar for Sweet who finished faultless 100 x 300
reducing Howells to 2nd overall.
M.Chivers also on for 100 straight
completed the achievement with a few barrels 100 x 293.
R.C.Jones again
needing to go straight for his first ever 100 straight faltered by missing
his 95th target and again compounded the error by missing his 96th as well
hard luck mate.
Three of our Ladies took part and all gave a good
account of themselves.
