Southern Counties - 100 DTL - 3rd Winter Series - Jan 7th 2007
40 shooters again turned out - 6 of which were Welsh. A gale force wind greeted everybody.
Bob Chivers was one of only four competitors to
shoot a 25 x 75. At the fifty stage it was Malcolm Brown who was
out in front with a 146 x 150, closely followed by three shooters on a
144 x 150 - they were Chivers, Dore and Morgan. Brown had a
disastrous third round scoring a 65 and with Chivers and Morgan only
being able to score a 69 - Dore capitalised by posting a 75.
So at the 75 stage Dore was on a 219 x 225 and T.Cam was on 214 x 225
and Chivers and Morgan on a 213 a piece.
Dore shooting a 70 on his last round took H/G with a score of 97 x 290. Morgan had to settle for 2nd place with a 98 x 286 and Chivers 3rd overall but also 1st in B with a 96 x 283. His brother Mark narrowly missing out on third place by a single point, hard luck mate. C class shooter R.C. Jones missed out on the prize money by a single full target.
Well, done lads.

2007 Top Averages Update
We published the list of the top shots for 2007 just before the end of 2006 on this web site. It has since been suggested that by placing shooters in the list who have not shot more than 400 targets - is not really representative of consistent high scoring averages. As a result of this we have re-published the list with a filter of 400 minimum targets applied. A link to the original list with no filter is still available on the same page.
The top averages can be accessed from the same location as before :
