The 2007 European DTL championship took place in France on August 11th and 12th 2007 just outside Bordeaux and 12 Welsh shooters participated. There were many trophies and medals up for grabs:
The 2 teams present were:
Seniors
Phil Morgan, Ifor Williams, Will Andrews, Gareth Evans and Glyn Jenkins.Ladies
Lyn Turpin, Sally Morrow and Ann Butler.
The pictures below show the "full" Welsh team on the left and the senior team in their shooting vests on the right.
Also shooting at the event were Welsh shooters Charlie Jones, Brian Davis, Rich Millichamp and Will Palmer.
The scoring would highlight the difficulties present with the wind effected the targets !
After the first day the senior team were only 7 points behind the English shooters, but well ahead of the French. The Ladies put in a strong performance and were all shooting well too. A picture of one of the ladies team shooting at the event is shown below:
An early start on Sunday morning proved difficult for all and a very dull sky met all shooters. Again a very difficult scoring day with the targets being effected by the breeze.
England pulled away on Day 2, but the senior team held fast and a great finish in the last round with only 6 points being dropped saw them take a sliver medal. WHAT A GREAT PERFORMANCE !!!
The proud silver medallists are shown below with their medals and trophies whilst their formal clothing.
The lady shooters were disappointed with their final team score, but all shot exceptionally well. Well done girls.

On a personal note I would like to thank Arthur Williams for his support and encouragement over the event and to say how proud and honoured I felt to be in the company of such nice people and great shooters. Standing on the stage being presented with the silver medal and a trophy for Wales was a feeling second to none.
Congratulations to Phil Morgan for his 4th place individual performance, excellent shooting !!!
Once again thank you all you should be very proud.
