Southern Counties Shooting Ground - DTL Grand Prix - August 12th and 13th 2006

Twenty Welsh shooters made the journey to Dorset for this 200 bird event on the 12th and 13th of August. There was a Browning gun for the overall High Gun and guns for the winners of each class as well as good prizes down to 6th place in most classes. Twenty-eight squads were entered in total.

Conditions were good but a strong cross wind made shooting tricky at times.

The event was won by Ian Mullarky (200/596) but Welsh shooters put in some good performances.

Tim Howells -  3rd overall and 2nd in AA.
Phil Morgan -   6th in AA.
Nigel Clarke -  won C class and a gun.
Roger Jones - 3rd in C class
Lynn Turpin -    3rd in Ladies.
Sid Williams - 3rd in Veterans

Thanks must go to Kevin Newton and his staff for a shoot that ran smoothly and on time.

Note from Webmaster

Submission of photographs for inclusion in the articles you submit for publication on the website need not just be restricted to those of you who have access to a digital camera.  Many high street photographic developers such as Jessop's, Boots, Max Spielmann and even some of the supermarkets e.g. Tesco will now transfer the contents of a 35mm film to CD-ROM when developing your normal prints for a very modest price.  This means that when you are out at your next shoot - even the simplest of disposable camera's could allow you to send over some photographs with your article.

Next time you are out shooting, give it a go - take a few snaps with your normal 35mm camera, get them developed and transferred to CD-ROM and email them over for submission.
