The 2006 Welsh All Round County Final
was held at
South Wales 2000
on October 8th 2006
There were shooters there who were eager to take home the trophies they had won last year. Dai Thomas from Dyfed, who was senior High Gun last year, was such a shooter but unfortunately the honour was taken away from him by Nigel Hart from Gwent with a brilliant score of 92.
Also from Gwent, taking home the silverware, was John Bolas winning the Veterans class with a 86.
The Captains cup wasn't so straight forward though. A shoot-off between Dyfed's captain, Ron Morgan and Powys' captain David Pugh, both on an 86, had to go to a second round of ABT before Ron won that on a 23. That was the only shoot-off of the day as the other winners won outright, the Ladies being won by Carol Francis(82) and the Juniors by Edward Poore(85) both from Dyfed.
The team events all
went Dyfed's way (except seniors) with the Veterans of Del and Daff Davies taking back
their shield from last year (maybe now they'll get it engraved)!
The
Ladies team of Carol Francis and Deanna Griffiths and the Junior team of
Edward Poore and Bleddyn Lewis.
The individual winners are shown in the picture below:
The overall victory for the Senior team went to Powys on 756 and they went back home with the winning County shield. Mind you, with Dyfed close on their heels with a score of 741, I wouldn't rest on your laurels boys! The winning county team (Powys) are shown below:
Many thanks go to Mike and Margaret Amodeo and their brilliant and hard working staff.
